Data Collected
When using the Website, Skicrew may collect:
- data voluntarily provided during registration, creation of a listing, or booking (first name, last name, email address, phone number, billing information);
- browsing data automatically collected by IT systems (IP address, browser, pages visited);
- booking payment data processed through Stripe: the amount is collected into Skicrew’s Stripe account, which subsequently transfers the relevant share to the ski school or rental provider, retaining the agreed commission;
- messages exchanged with any automated chat assistant available on the Website, if the user chooses to use it.
Purpose of Data Processing
The data is processed for the following purposes: managing accounts and bookings between skiers, ski schools, and rental providers; collecting booking payments through Stripe and transferring the relevant share to the ski school or rental provider, while retaining Skicrew’s agreed commission; responding to contact requests and customer support inquiries; and complying with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. At present, the Website does not use analytics tools or third-party tracking pixels. Should such tools (e.g., Google Analytics) be introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
Legal Basis for Processing
Depending on the circumstances, the legal basis for processing may be: the performance of a contract (e.g., a booking), the user's consent (e.g., for non-essential cookies or newsletters), compliance with legal obligations, or the legitimate interests of the Data Controller.
Cookie
The Website uses technical cookies that are necessary for its operation (e.g., shopping cart and booking management) and, where the user has given consent, third-party cookies (e.g., maps or an optional chatbot). For a detailed list of the cookies used, their purposes, and information on how to manage your preferences, please refer to our Cookie Policy.
Disclosure of Data to Third Parties
Data may be disclosed to providers that process data on behalf of the Data Controller or that independently receive data during browsing, including:
- Hostinger, for Website hosting;
- Stripefor online payment processing: booking amounts are collected into Skicrew’s Stripe account, which then transfers the relevant share to the ski school or rental provider;
- partner ski schools and rental providers, to which booking data is disclosed (e.g., customer name, booked service, date, amount) as necessary to provide the requested service, along with their entitled share of the payment;
- Google Maps, integrated into listing pages to display the location of ski schools and rental providers: when the map is loaded, Google may receive the user’s IP address and set its own cookies, in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy;
- l’eventuale assistente di chat basato su intelligenza artificiale presente sul Sito (PurioChat), che elabora i messaggi scambiati dall’utente durante la conversazione;
- social networks connected through buttons available on the Website (e.g., Instagram, Facebook): clicking redirects the user to the external platform, which is subject to its own privacy policy — the Website does not install cookies from these social networks merely due to the presence of the button;
- other technical providers necessary for the operation of the platform (e.g., translation services, email delivery services).
Non-EU Data Transfers
Some of the providers listed above may process data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, the transfer takes place on the basis of the safeguards provided for by the GDPR (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
Data Retention
Data is retained for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. Data relating to financial transactions (payments collected and transferred to ski schools/rental providers) is retained in accordance with the terms required by Italian tax and accounting regulations.
Data Subject Rights
You have the right to access your data, request its rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and object to its processing by contacting the email address indicated above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
